Take-Two's earnings report has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V shipped over 54 million copies across all platforms.
Since its launch in September 2013, over 54 million copies of GTAV have been shipped to retailers worldwide. What's more, the demand for the title is still high as indicated by Take-Two moving 2 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V in the last quarter alone, which ended on June 30th.
Take-Two also reported “strong financial results.” The company saw revenue grow by 142% to $366.4 million, compared to $151.6 million for the same period the year before. What's more, the company made an overall profit of $34.2 million for the quarter, as opposed to the $11.2 million net loss that Take-Two recorded last year.
The company also recorded an increase in revenue generated from selling digitally-delivered content. The digitally-delivered content segment experienced a 139% year-over-year growth to $254 million thanks to franchises such as GTA, NBA 2K, Borderlands, WWE 2K, and Evolve.
The biggest contributors to Take-Two's net revenue were Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online, NBA 2K15, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and WWE 2K15.
