Warner Bros. has announced the release date for the first story DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight – Batgirl: A Matter of Family. Season Pass holders will be able to don the cape and cowl of Batgirl on the 14th of July while everyone else will be able to purchase the DLC for £5.79 on the 21st.
Taking place before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, the DLC will allow players to step into the shoes of Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl for the first time in the history of the franchise. The add-on will take place in an all-new location, with multiple missions and side quests to complete. Batgirl will progress through the world and solve puzzles with the aid of a new hacking skill. Additionally, the Dual Play mechanic known from the main game will make a return in the DLC, with Batgirl teaming up with Robin for some dynamic take-downs.
Interestingly enough, A Matter of Family is being developed by WB Games Montréal, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins, with the rest of the Season Pass content currently in development at Rocksteady Studios.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available for PS4 and Xbox One. PC players will have to wait for the DLC a while longer as Warner Bros. and Rocksteady Studios are hard at work fixing the numerous technical issues plaguing the port. The press release states that the PC version will be available in the coming weeks.
