The release date of the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is nearly upon us, and to commemorate this moment, Hideo Kojima has released his final trailer for the title.
The trailer has an air of nostalgia to it, showing footage from all of the past titles in the series, starting with the ground-breaking Metal Gear Solid and ending on spectacular new footage of The Phantom Pain. The 5 minute long trailer is both a trip down memory lane and a reminder of how far the series has evolved over they years.
With rumors of Hideo Kojima leaving Konami after Metal Gear Solid V ships, this trailer is not only the last big marketing push before the game releases, but also the veteran developer's goodbye to a series that he created over 25 years ago.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on the 1st of September. The video can be viewed below, but please keep in mind that the second half of the trailer might be considered a spoiler.
