Fans of the Witcher 3 can rejoice as the White Wolf returns for another adventure in Hearts of Stone, the first big expansion, coming this October.
Step again into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, this time hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, a man who possesses the power of immortality. The expansion lets you choose your own way through an adventure that includes recruiting a crew of break-in artists, spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.”
Hearts of Stone promises to deliver over 10 hours of new adventures, including new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance, and a brand new storyline affected by player choices. The expansion will feature a brand new system of Runewords that have a significant impact on the gameplay. Players will be able to try out various tactics and strategies as each Runeword affects a different aspect of in-game mechanics. The Hearts of Stone expansion can be started at any point during or after the main story. However, CD Project Red suggests that the expansion is meant for players who reached character level 30.
The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone comes out on October 13, 2015. Alongside the digital release, the expansion will also receive a limited boxed edition retailing at $19.99 / 19.99€. The box will contain a digital download code for Hearts of Stone, two physical decks of Gwent cards featuring the Monsters and Scoia’tael factions, and a manual explaining the rules. Season Pass holders can purchase the Gwent decks separately by following the instructions on this site.
