Lizard Squad, the infamous hacker group, took down Google's Vietnam homepage for a few hours today.
Users trying to access google.com.vn today found themselves being redirected to a website showing a man taking a selfie and the following message:
Hacked by Lizard Squad
The hacker group posted this on their Twitter account further confirming their involvement in the attack.
Anyone think http://t.co/IfjTUw7WRN looks a little different today?

The group didn't provide a reason for the attack. Perhaps it was an attempt to advertise their DDoS service by taking down a site of a major company.
DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service, which is a form of cyber attack that aims to take down an online service by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.
This hack isn't the first time the group made itself know to the internet. Last year, Lizard Squad carried out a DDoS attack on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live during Christmas, ruining the holidays for many gamers in the process.
