Edward Snowden, the famous whistleblower, and Glenn Greenwald, an investigative journalist and publisher of Snowden's findings, are scheduled to give an interview during this year's CeBIT Global Conferences.

Snowden, who is currently living in exile in Russia, worked for the CIA and NSA as a technical specialist and system administrator before turning whistleblower. In 2013, he provided investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald and filmmaker Laura Poitras with sensitive information regarding pervasive surveillance by Western intelligence agencies of global digital communications.

The recordings produced from the meetings with Snowden led to the creation of “Citizenfour,” a documentary that won the Academy Award for best documentary film at the end of February.

Glenn Greenwald will appear on stage to answer questions at the CeBIT Global Conferences (Hall 8) on Wednesday, 18 March. Edward Snowden will tune in from his Russian refuge via a live video feed. In charge of moderating the interview will be Brent Geoff, main news anchor at Deutsche Welle TV Berlin.
